Portrait of the Day

Portrait of the Day

Week Eight

April 30, Leaving Prague we took our portrait at the campsite where we had spent the previous few nights, trees in bloom. We had an emotionally draining day: first a visit to Terezin (Teresienstadt) and then to Lidice:

May 1, We found the town of Horovice (with its synagogue that is now an Evangelical Church) and proceeded on to Pilsen where we found a lovely forest. There we ate our lunch and took our picture before continuing on to "Carsbad" (not by the sea...) in Czech Karlovy Vary:

May 2, Exploring Karlovy Vary in the sun, searching for "WiFi" and a spa, enjoying the primarily Russian and German tourist scene:

May 3, We walked up the steep path on the hill of the west side of Karlovy Vary, ate our lunch at a lovely spot in the woods, then wandered back down to have afternoon tea at the Imperial Hotel before wandering along the west side of the valley to find the synagogue:

May 4, After taking the waters at the Elizabeth Baths:

May 5, "This Year At Marienbad"; We took a quick driving tour of the resort town on our way to Munich:

May 6, We explored downtown (Old Town?) Munich where we found a "let us all be glad we're part of the European Union" fair. One of the booths supported Esperanto:
